Salam and greetings to everyone.
When we were asked if we want to do the contracts during the start of our new block: Health System and Disaster Management, some of us doubt our own commitment to do this tasks; blog, proposal, article or journal. On the 2nd week, Prof Laksono gave us a brief explanations on what we should do. Understand fully the aim of the tasks and knowing its benefit, we (batch mates) support each other on taking this contracts. It occur to me that 'it's worth a try' and 'hey, it is actually not as difficult as I thought'.
Some asked, why The Sealed Nectar? I took the name based on a book, Ar-Raheeq Al-Makhtum (in Arabic: الرحيق المختوم ; meaning The Sealed Nectar), an authoritative and popular Sira (biography) of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. It was awarded first prize by the Muslim World League, at the first Islamic Conference on Seerah. The book provides authentic references which makes it more reliable and I already read the Indonesian translated version and it is awesome, subhanallah. What I'm trying to say is that, as I was inspired by the book and took its name, may this blog lifts my spirit to do my own research, reads from a lot of valid resources so that it can brings us to have better understanding of this block.
As an amateur blog writer, it is a great opportunity for all of us to learn more on the field that not many people really fond of, not due to not knowing its tremendous importance to the community, but just simply because the topic is so vague and wide. Studying about diseases may need you to study human body and its functions, but public health requires you to study the world! ;)
This blog will make (read: forced) us to do more works, more studies and more researches on something that is really fundamental in our medical life, PUBLIC HEALTH. Yes, I want to get an A on this, but more than that, I know that I'll learn a lot along the way. :)
